Christmas is coming along and not knowing what was the agenda on where and when “The Family Christmas Gathering”, is. Stephanie already started buying X’mas gifts for the little ones. Also we decided to give baked goods and personal gifts to everyone. We only realized that our family and friends loved Stephanie’s special cookies and/or banana bread. So that’s how it came about the baked gifts.

Finally the dreaded phone call came…
I was editing some photos and heard Stephanie talking about Christmas. I then knew it was about the date and time of the Dobb’s X’mas gathering. I was socked that the first thing Stephanie asked was if I had a software to fix her grandma’s computer. Well, after the long chat, Stephanie’s side was on the calendar.
Later that week we knew where my family was going to celebrate it. The cool thing is that my family will be locally and Stephanie’s Grandma’s party is in LA.

This month is hard for everyone, especially finically, but we are very thankful for what we have. Negativity always out powers the good. There are times we do think that we don’t have the newest DLSR camera or wishing that we can afford Joe Mcnally’s workshop. But then we subside our emotions and understand that there are others that is thankful for a piece of bread or a child being given a used pair of shoes to warm is feet from the cold December breeze.

Let’s be thankful and help others. A simple email of saying thank you to someone is more powerful than you think.

BLINKit is drooling on the NIKON D4.

The New 16.2 Megapixel Nikon D4 a Formidable Fusion of Swift Performance, Battle-Tested Technologies and Innovative New Features to Create High Caliber Photo and HD Multimedia Content . The only big thing that bug me is the cost….$6,000+. I can buy a couple of  Canon Mark 5D, but as you know we are Nikon users. We did use Canons, Sonys, and even Pentax, but its just how Nikon handles, the easy dials, and the popping colors.

Can’t wait see it in action.

On Nov 6, it was the first Comikaze Expo at the LA Convention Center. We didn’t know what to expect, the list of special guest and the array of vendors made this expo very promising. Another added bonus is that Stan Lee, from Mavel Comics will be making an appearance as well. The day of the event…

The day of the event.

First we had to go to Layla’s Volleyball game at 9am. The game was very exciting, for the first time the team was playing like crazy animated toon town characters running around the court. Unfortunately, we lost by 2 points, but the kids still had a great time.

So we packed our stuff and headed to The LA Convention Center. The drive was smooth, but it was too early to sing, “The Smurf song.” While I was chatting with my cousin on my cell, I didn’t tell Stephanie to exit Blaine. So we missed our exit which lead to another 30 min traffic. We finally found a parking spot and power walked to the will call.

We were shocked to see how packed it was, and saw various memorable actors and actress that we remembered from the golden years of television.

From the original Michael Meyers to Howard the Duck, the list goes on and on.
All in all we had a blast, enjoy the videos and photos we took.

Our Story

Wildflower was founded in 2009 to meet the demands for a local women’s publication in Northern Nevada. It has since become an international project with contributors from around the world. We are continuing to expand and will be releasing four large print issues this coming year.

The Impact

We call Wildflower “female-positive” — it is a place where women can share their creativity and their stories in a respectful, inspirational setting. Women and men alike have expressed gratitude for offering a female publication that covers all subjects and aspects of women’s lives, and for featuring artists who make people think and reflect through their words and visual images.

It’s been a long time since we uploaded a Behind The Scenes. We know this is an old shoot we did back in Oct. but we never did a BTS.  We also decided to upload this as a submission for Fstoppers contest. What makes this different is that we will show you how we prepare our shoots, and that you don’t need a big production to create your own shoot.
